Flu & Pneumococcal Vaccinations
We particularly recommend this for patients over 65 years or those who fall within chronic disease groups.
We will invite you to come to a flu clinic, if you are in any risk groups. The pneumococcal vaccination is offered to all patients over the age of 65. This vaccination is only necessary on one occasion and the cover will last a lifetime. Please note that large numbers of patients have to be vaccinated in a few weeks. We would be grateful for your understanding, if we cannot give you the personal attention that you would normally receive.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to complete a Travel Health Questionnaire. You can collect this form from reception, once completed you need to return it to the surgery along with a £10.00 consultation fee, and make an appointment with the nurse.
It is important to complete the travel questionnaire as early as possible, so that you can organise your appointment in time for you to travel. Remember some vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccines, so could take time to arrive in surgery.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. The fees are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales.
Fees to be charged effective from Wednesday 1st March 2017
