Appointment System

Appointment Booking Update from December 2022

Future dated appointments are available to be booked either by phone, online or in person.

On the day appointments can be booked either by phone, online or in person from 8.30 in the morning.

All appointments are now face-to-face

We encourage you to get set up for online access to appointments so that you will be able to make use of this service. This can be done by contacting reception

We recognise that some people will not be able to use this system, but they are able to ask someone else to do so on their behalf, and we will always have the phone lines open in tandem with online booking.

For the safety of yourself and other patients, we ask that you continue to wear a face mask in the waiting room and throughout your time in the building.

How to Book an Appointment

If you wish to book an appointment you can do so by either:

Telephone

You can call the surgery and speak to a member of the reception team. Phone lines open at 08.30 each morning. On some days where demand is higher you may experience a longer wait for you call to be answered. We now have a facility on the phone system to queue calls, so you will be told where in the queue you are, it will also inform you when all the appointments for that day have gone.

Online

You can log onto the online services to view appointments available to book. You are able to book routine and on the day appointments.

We appreciate that we are a very busy surgery and understand the frustrations of our patients when trying to obtain an appointment. We are constantly looking at new ways of increasing capacity.

All our appointments are booked through a computerised system which will allow you to book any available appointments by phone or in person. You can also book a number of appointments online. We can also provide telephone appointments in some cases.

If you feel you may need more time to discuss all your issues with the doctor, please advise the receptionist who will book you an extended appointment.

We will always try and make sure we have the right balance of each appointment available for booking.

Whilst we aim to predict the number of appointments needed to match demand, on some days there are just more people wanting to be seen than there is time to see them. On these occasions we may ask if you feel the problem must be dealt with the same day. If you feel this is the case we will try to accommodate you where possible, and you may be offered one of the following.

Telephone Triage

The practice can offer a telephone triage, if it is felt that the problem cannot wait.
